The Interweaving Series:
Four Seasons
The Interweaving Series explores seasonal change through the open-ended process of painting. All elements visually connect.
In these paintings, Louise Gardam references the ebb and flow of meteorological conditions as experienced on the chalk escarpments and wooded valleys of the South Downs.
The Series is comprised of a myriad of heuristic techniques which the artist has honed through her practice. The resulting lexicon of non-specific forms are the product of continuous experimentation, with the adding and subtracting of layers of paint onto linen.
These complex compositions invite a sense of energy and exploration.
